Ogun House of Assembly Receives Copies of Constitutional Bills

Ogun state house of assembly is finalizing arrangements for the consideration of bills of the ongoing constitutional amendment bill

44 clauses out of 68 approved by the national assembly, are to be considered by the 36 state houses of assembly for ratification.

The clerk of the national assembly, Amos Ojo, handed over the bill to the clerks of the state houses of assembly last Thursday at the national assembly complex in Abuja.

Speaker of the state house of assembly, Honorable Olakunle Oluomo, confirmed the receipt of the 44 bills in Abeokuta, last Friday.

Oluomo, speaking recently on a Rockcity FM programme, “daybreak show” said the lawmakers would meet and decide the modality they would adopt for seeking input from stakeholders before considering the bills.

Last Friday, the speaker said the assembly would soon hold a stakeholders forum to obtain input of major stakeholders on the bills.

The clauses ratified by the state houses of assembly are to be returned to the national assembly for transmission to President Buhari for his assent.
