Ogun Floats Scheme To Convert Vehicles Using Fuel To Gas

Ogun State Government has finalized arrangement to assist in converting vehicles using petrol to run on gas.

Beneficiaries of the initiative include trucks, buses, and taxi cabs.

Also, bicycles will be converted to use electricity as a source of power.

The first sets of test kits for the conversion programme, is expected to arrive in the state, within the next three weeks.

Governor Dapo Abiodun announced this, at a meeting with taxi operators, leaders of transport unions and government task force at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta

The governor says the pilot stage of the conversion programme is being implemented under the Ogun State going green project, to promote the reduction of carbon emission, and reduce transport costs.

According to the governor, his administration is investing in the programme to take advantage of the gas pipeline extended to the state from the Escravos-Lagos pipeline.
