Forestry commissioner, honorable Tunji Akinosi made this known in an interview granted on the sideline of the 2022 world forestry day.

According to the commissioner, the draft bill would be forwarded to the state house of assembly after necessary amendment for consideration and approval.

He explained that the original draft bill was withdrawn from the assembly on the advice of Governor Dapo Abiodun who believes that it would not deter illegal activities in the forest reserves.
