Operatives of Ogun State Amotekun Corps have arrested two suspected kidnappers at Ibara Orile axis of Abeokuta in Ogun state.

The suspects, Ibrahim Babuga and Mohammed Abubakar, were intercepted after the kidnap of a couple, Jimoh Tunde and Muinat Tunde from their residence at Oke Afin in Ibara Orile last November 17.

Two other members of the kidnap gang, according to the Amotekun commander, retired police commissioner, David Akinremi, are still on the run.

The kidnap gang was said to be involved in several abduction of people at Soyoye, Alamala, Ibara Orile and Olorunda in Abeokuta north.

According to Amotekun, the kidnappers after abducting the couple, took them into the bush, tied them to a mango tree and subjected them to beating.

The two suspects were intercepted after collecting the N800,000 ransom and on their way back to their camp in the forest, but their two colleagues escaped with the ransom.

The Amotekun commander said his men during a raid on the camp, recovered a telephone, a locally made gun, four cutlasses, sticks, dangerous weapons and N29,000 cash.

Akinremi said investigations are ongoing to arrest other members of the kidnap gang.
