Obasanjo Calls For Fresh Presidential Poll On March 4
Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has called for the cancellation of the ongoing February 25 presidential poll.
He suggested the re-run of the poll on Saturday to enable the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) correct the alleged errors noticed in the electoral process in the past two days
Obasanjo also suggested the setting up of a committee of four major political parties with the president of the Nigeria Bar Association to consider the modalities for the conduct of a fresh presidential poll on March 4.
According to him, all the results from polling units where the bimodal voter acreditation system (BVAS) was not used, or the results not uploaded into the result viewing portal, are not acceptable.
He asked president Buhari to intervene to douse the tension which was building up, and the chairman of INEC to save Nigeria from looming danger and alleged disaster waiting to happen.
More so, Obasanjo warned against setting the country on fire with the greed of those who allegedly bribed INEC officials to compromise the poll, and those who allegedly collected the blood money.
