Obasanjo Asks Nigerians To Prevent Bad Politicians From Winning 2023 Polls

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has asked Nigerians to be at alert to prevent politicians from wrecking the country.

Obasanjo says that Nigerians will regret if they allowed politicians with no fear of God to win the 2023 polls.

He spoke on the issue while receiving the newly elected President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Most Reverend Daniel Okoh, at his residence in the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Complex, Abeokuta.

According to Obasanjo, the 2023 polls might make or break Nigeria.

The Former President says that as Nigeria approaches another major polls, religious leaders have a significant role to play in salvaging the country from its present challenges.

He asks religious leaders to make politicians to be responsible, adding that the mistake of the past that politics is not for the righteous should not be repeated in 2023.

Responding, the CAN President commends the Former President for playing important roles in the political history of Nigeria and Africa.

He recalled that Obasanjo facilitated the setting up of CAN in 1976, and the Inter-faith Religious Faith Council in 1999.
