The Organized Labour has asked Federal Government to consider introducing the cost of living allowances for workers in the public sector, to cushion the rising costs of living in the country.

President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba, warns that core civil servants, especially those in the judiciary and health sectors, are becoming restive.

Wabba, speaking on the suspension of strike by lecturers, says the wages of workers in the judiciary and health sectors were last reviewed in 2009.

The labour leader says although the current inflationary level and rising prices is a global problem, other countries, some in Africa, including Ghana, Tunisia, are finding local solutions to cope with their restive workforce.

Nigeria, according to him, like other countries should not wait for workers to embark on strikes before finding local solutions to reduce the pains of its workforce from the rising costs of food and other commodities.
