Nigeria Okays Oxford Varsity RN2 Malaria Vaccine For Children
National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) approved Oxford University R21 malaria vaccine in the country.
This made Nigeria to be the second country in the world, after Ghana, to give provisional approval to the use of the vaccine.
NAFDAC director general, Prof Moji Adeyeye, who announced this on Monday, approved the vaccine for the prevention of clinical malaria in children between the ages of three to 36 months.
She explained that the vaccine was 70 per cent effective in protection against malaria
The NAFDAC DG said Nigeria is awaiting the donation of hundreds of thousands from the serum of India.

According to her, the donation will precede the market authorization will start making arrangement with the national primary healthcare development agency.
