Nigeria Initiates Moves to Expand its Territories in Gulf of Guinea

The federal government says it is seeking to extend Nigeria’s territories through its maritime border in the gulf of guinea.

President Buhari, who gave this indication, says he is optimistic that Nigeria can acquire more territories without going to war, engage in litigation with any country, or pay for it.

Buhari, announced this, while receiving the report of extended continental shelf report from a committee headed by justice minister, Abubakar Malami, at the presidential villa, Abuja.

The president, explains that the proposed territory expansion in the gulf of Guinea is being pursued under the United Nations convention on the law of the sea.

He promised the committee a full support of his administration, appreciating it for the progress it had made in actualizing the proposal.
