NDLEA Chairman, retired Brigadier General Buba Marwa, raised the alarm while appearing before the House of Representatives Committee on Drugs and Narcotics, to defend the agency’s allocations in the proposed 2023 budget.
Marwa says that some of the drug barons arrested by the agency and those convicted were going after the NDLEA operatives.

According to him, the agency had been recording casualties, including deaths of its operatives, especially those who reside in towns.
Marwa calls for urgent provision of barracks accommodation for the NDLEA operatives to shield them from attacks by the baron, adding that they are concluding arrangement for the acquisition of land for the project.
