Muslims Are Today Celebrating Eid El Fitri, To Mark End Of Ramadan

Muslims nationwide are today celebrating Eid El Fitri, to mark the end of Ramadan fasting.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar on Thursday night announced the official end of the thirty day fasting, and declaration of today as Eid El Fitri.

The Sultan, in a statement by the sultanate council advisory committee on religious affairs, said the declaration followed the sighting of the new moon across the country on Thursday .

The traditional ruler, who is the president of the nigeria supreme council on Islamic affairs, asked Muslims to pray for the allah’s guidance and blessing.

He also urges muslims to pray for god’s guidance for all the newly elected leaders nationwide.

Federal government had already declared today and monday, next week as public holiday for the festival.
