MAPOLY Suspends 90 Students for Misconduct and Exam Malpractice

Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta has suspended and expelled ninety (90) students for alleged exam malpractice and misconduct.

Thirty (30)of the affected students were summarily expelled, while sixty (60) were suspended for exam malpractice.

The  acting rector, Doctor Adeoye Odedeji announced this during the institution’s matriculation and oath taking ceremony held at the polytechnic campus in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

He warned students against indulging in anti-social behaviours, examination misconduct and indecent dressing and membership in secret societies which they sworn against.

The acting rector charged the newly admitted students to avail themselves every opportunity to excel, submitting that the school had well over 100 academic staff with doctoral degrees.

Meanwhile, Governor Dapo Abiodun has confirmed Dr. Odedeji as the substantive rector of the polytechnic.

The governor appointed Odedeji as the acting rector in December 2019.

His substantive appointment was contained in a letter signed by the permanent secretary in the ministry of education science and technology, Mrs. Olasheni Abosede Ogunleye.
