Man Arrested In Ogun For Faking His Own Kidnap
A 23 year old man, Edwards Okache, has been arrested in Ogun State for allegedly faking his own kidnap at Mowe axis of the state.
The suspect was arrested by the police with four others, Asamoah Earnest, Isiah Uti, Ephraim Anyijor and Charity Lukpata.
Their arrest followed a distress phone call from the sister of the suspect, Comfort Okache, to the Mowe Police Divisional Headquarters that her brother who traveled from Calabar to Lagos had been abducted at Mowe.
She told the police that his brother’s abductors were demanding the some of N10 million ransom to free him, or he would be killed.

Spokesman of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, says that a police team deployed to track the suspect, combed the forest at Orimerunmu, during which they found him tied in both hands and legs in an uncompleted building.
Two of the suspects found with him in the building were arrested while their victim was rescued.
During interrogation, Oyeyemi says the two arrested suspects told the police that the kidnap was planned by the victim to extort his parents to start an online business.
The two arrested suspects also told the police that they were linked to him by one Ephraim Anyijor and Charity Lukpata who resided in the same Local Government Area in Cross River State
The police later arrested the suspects, increasing their number to four now in detention.
