Man Arrested For Allegedly Bathing With Blood In Abeokuta

A 49 year old man has been arrested by the police for allegedly bathing with a human blood at Obantoko axis of Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

He was arrested while bathing on Friday at the community river at Kotopo, near Camp, according to the spokesman of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi.

The suspect, Ganiyu Shina, however told the police that the blood was that of a cow and not that of a human being.

The suspect, according to the police, had parked his commercial vehicle on the bank of the river, brought out a sponge and a container filled with blood and started bathing in the river.

Oyeyemi said the suspect after noticing that he was being watched by some members of the community, took to his heel, and was chased.

He was eventually caught by the community members who invited police from the Aregbe police station which took him to their station.

During interrogation, Oyeyemi said the suspect told the police he had a spiritual problem and was instructed by a herbalist to perform a ritual with the blood of a cow.

The state police commissioner, Lanre Bankole had directed that the remaining blood in the container be taken for laboratory analysis to determine if it is that of a cow or a human being.
