Lassa Fever Kills 34 Persons in Ondo Within Four Months

34 persons have been lost in Ondo state to Lassa fever epidemic since January this year.

This followed the 227 confirmed cases of the disease, reported in six of the local government areas of the state, during the period.

Special adviser to the state governor on health, professor Francis Faduyile, who made this known, listed the affected areas as Ondo west, Akure north, Owo, Ose, Akure south, and Akoko south west.

He recalls that the state during the last Lassa fever epidemic used to be the epicentre of the disease in Nigeria, adding that the state government has working round the clock to prevent the spread of the disease in the state.
