Large Marijuana Farm Uncovered In Ogun

A large marijuana farm has been uncovered by the police in the Remo north axis of Ogun state.

Police say they raided the marijuana farm located at Lokuta village last Saturday.

Seven suspects found at the large marijuana farm are now in police custody.

They are Nelson Enu, Patrick Emmanuel, Samuel Paul, Ekioya Joe, Monday Okoro, Endurance Eliebe, and Stanley Ogejiagba.

Spokesman of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said detectives from the Isara police divisional headquarters raided the farm after receiving a credible intelligence.

According to him, the owners of the farms had threatened to deal with villagers, when they requested from them what they want to use the large expanse of land for.

He lists items recovered from the farms as including five bags of unplanted marijuana seeds, while two bags of the seed had been planted

The state police commissioner, Lanre Bankole had ordered the transfer of the suspects to the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation.

Oyeyemi said the suspects would later be handed over to The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
