Labour Party Faction Faults Peter Obi, Backs May 29 Inauguration

Lamidi Apapa faction of the Labour Party has faulted calls call by its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, that president elect Bola Tinubu should not be inaugurated until the presidential poll tribunal complete its sitting.

The faction says section 136 and 146 of the nigerian constitution does not support the demand by Peter Obi.

The faction, in a statement by its spokesman, abayomi arabambi warned that failure to inaugurate the president elect on may 29 would create a vaccum in federal government.

It adds that the electoral act and the constitution make no provision for a vacuum in government.

Besides, the faction argues that the May 29 inauguration would have no impact on the proceedings at the presidential poll tribunal.

This is because tinubu could be removed from office if he eventually lost at the tribunal.
