Labour Holds Mega Solidarity Rally in FCT to End Pro-ASUU Protests

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) will hold a mega solidarity rally in Abuja to consolidate on the protest rally held nationwide on Tuesday in the state capitals.

The mega solidarity rally is being organized by the congress, with its affiliate bodies to compel the federal government to reach a deal with the striking lecturers to re-open public universities that have been shut down since February.

Today’s mega rally is scheduled to hold at the unity fountain, Abuja.

Speaking on the outcome of Tuesday’s rally, the NLC president, Ayuba Wabba asked federal government to act fast to avoid a total shutdown of the country.

Wabba, speaking on a television programme, warned that the 2-day solidarity rally could be followed up by a 3-day warning strike if the federal government fails to take concrete steps to end the strike by public universities lecturers.
