Kidnappers in Fresh Attack in Ogun, Kill Traveler, Abduct Seven Others near Ilishan
Armed kidnappers have abducted a traveler and abducted seven others in an attack on the Sagamu-Ijebu Ode Expressway.
The gunmen struck on the evening of May 3, near Ilishan-Remo junction of the expressway.
The attack came, weeks after gunmen invaded a relaxation Centre on Ilishan-Sagamu road, killing a Babcock University Professor and abducted some other people.
The gunmen during the May 3 attack, forced three vehicles to a stop with sporadic gunshots, killed one of the travelers, and marched seven others into the bush.
Spokesperson of the state police command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed that one person was killed in the incident, but could not state the number of people abducted.
She said the gunmen who were seven in number carrying ak-47 rifles, blocked the expressway and riddled two Lexus Jeeps with bullets.

One of the Lexus Jeep marked LND 640 DY, according to her, was driven by one Chilaka Lugard while the other Lexus Jeep marked LSR 996 JF belongs to Kingsley Chinene.
She added that the third vehicle loaded with plantain whose driver was also abducted, was later freed.
Odutola said the state police commissioner, Abiodun Alamutu, had directed police tactical teams to go after the gunmen.
Odutola said the State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu was not happy with this security breach and had in an emergency meeting summoned on Monday, directed the tactical commanders and the Mobile Squadron to go after the undesirable elements.
She said, the CP had been to the scene of the incident, a lot of works is ongoing to fish these people out and let them answer for their criminality, I can assure you that, these criminals will be apprehended very soon.
