Kano Sharia Intercepts Lorries Load Of Beer

Operatives of Sharia Police in Kano State have intercepted lorries loaded with 18,000 bottles of assorted beer.

The alcohol was intercepted in Gwarzo Local Government Area of the State.

Commandant General of the State Hisbah Board, Sheikh Harun Ibn Sina told Newsmen on Tuesday in Kano, that the lorries were on their way to Kano Metropolis.

He said that Hisbah board had destroyed over three Million bottles of assorted beer this year after securing orders from courts

The Hisbah commandant general said 10 lorries loaded with beer are now in its custody to be destroyed after concluding the court processes on their seizure

The consumption and sale of beer has been outlawed in the state
