Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on the state, following the outcome of the Saturday governorship poll.

Information commissioner, Mohammed Garba, in a statement said the curfew was imposed to prevent the breakdown of law and order in the state.

The governor urged residents to stay indoor as hoodlums are attempting to cause chaos in the already tensed political situation in the state.

The tension started brewing in the state, following the declaration of the candidate of the new Nigeria people’s party, Abba Yusuf as the winner of the state governorship poll.

Yusuf scored one million, 19 thousand, 602 votes to defeat the candidate of the ruling APC, Nasiru Gawuna who collected 890,705 votes.

Governor Ganduje had pleaded with the APC supporters to remain calm as the party leadership is reviewing the process of collation of the results of the polls preparatory to taking appropriate decision.
