INEC Worried Over Likely Sabotage of Electronic Transmission

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it is worried over the implementation of the planned electronic transmission of results of the 2023 polls, in line with the new electoral act.

The electoral agency fears that some politicians might sabotage the smooth electronic transmission of the results of the polls.

Akwa Ibom state INEC resident electoral commissioner, Mike Igini who expressed the concern while speaking to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday, said using of electronic means of conducting the forthcoming polls is a welcome development.

Igini says that INEC intends to deploy some of the technology innovation it used in the various off the season and bye polls recently for the 2023 polls.

He, however, says that INEC is not always in control of some elements, mostly politicians who may want to sabotage innovation is considering for the conduct of the polls.
