INEC Says It Has Fixed Challenges In Its Presidential Results Viewing Platform
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has spoken on the sluggish release of the results of the presidential poll, on its results viewing portal.
Opposition political parties, their candidates and several interest groups have been complaining over the rate of the release of the results onto the viewing portal, alleging plots to manipulate the results.
But INEC spokesman, Festus Okoye on Sunday night, said that the platform has been facing some challenges, making it relatively slow and unsteady.
Okoye however, clarified that the portal was safe and not sabotaged.
He blamed the setback on technical hitches caused by the up scaling of the portal used for the recent off the season polls, for the national polls.
The INEC spokesman said technical team is working round the clock to fix the platform, assuring users that the portal has recorded improved performances since Sunday night.
The INEC chairman had earlier told Nigerians that the electoral agency would not unnecessarily delay the release of the results of the poll.
Yakubu, however, said he could not say when it would be released.
