International Monetary Fund (IMF) says it supported Nigeria with $6.8 billion in 2020 and 2021 to support the economy.
IMF country representatives in Nigeria, Ari Aisen, announced this at the American business council economic update.
According to him, $3.4 billion was disbursed in 2020 to support Nigerian economy to face the harsh effect of Covid 19 pandemic.
Also in 2021, the fund said it gave another $3.4 billion to assist the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to boost Nigeria’s dwindling external reserves.
