Ijebu Obas Endorse Abiodun, Asks Other Candidates To Wait Till 2027
Monarchs from the Ijebu axis of Ogun State have said that there is no vacancy at the Governor’s Office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, after May 29,2023.
The Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, says the best Ogun State governorship candidate for now, is Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The top monarch warns that Ijebu traditional council will not consider any other governorship candidate in the 2023 governorship poll.
Fifty two Ijebu monarchs took the position on Thursday, during the monthly meeting of the council, presided over by the Awujale at his palace in Ijebu Ode, with Governor Abiodun in attendance.
The monarchs in a communique issued at the end of the meeting, endorsed the governor for a second term in office, commended him for signing into law the Obas and Chiefs Laws of Ogun State, which they said have reformed the installation and burial rights of traditional rulers.
They also commended his administration for executing several projects in every parts of the state, while asking him to actualize the proposed deep seaport project in the Ogun Waterside.
The Governor thanked members of the council for their support and for endorsing him for a second term in office.
Abiodun told them that the Agro Cargo Airport Project, nearing completion at Ilishan Remo is already attracting billions of naira investments into the state, including $400 million investments in the project.
