ICPC Probes Federal Wage Bill

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Related Offences Commission (ICPC) says it is investigating the wage bill of the federal government.

The anti-corruption agency says the probe is over the jump in the wage bill from n1.83 trillion in 2015 to n3.49 trillion in 2022.

The agency chairman, Professor Bolaji Owasanoye made this known at a policy dialogue on entrenching transparency in public service in Abuja.

According to him, ICPC is working on over 100 petitions it had received from victims of recruitment scam into federal service.

He said that many Nigerians in official and non-official circles had been complaining over the rising bill and high level of corruption in the recruitment into federal civil service.
