IBB Asks the Media to Ignore Peddlers of Hate and Disunity

Former Nigeria’s military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, has asked the media to ignore those peddling hate speeches and other messages capable of undermining the unity of the country.

Babangida urged the media to deny such elements a platform to pass their messages across to Nigerians.

He made the call while receiving members of the correspondents chapel of Niger state council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists at his Minna residence.

The visit is part of activities marking the eighty first birthday of the former military ruler.

Babangida also urged Nigerians to ignore those whose stock in trade is to disrupt the peace of the country, especially as the country approaches the 2023 polls.

The former military ruler asks them to be patient with one another, pray for God’s intervention in the affairs of Nigeria, and not give up hope on the challenges facing the country.
