Hoodlums Attacked Party Supporters Outside  Ogun Poll Tribunal, Sowunmi Assaulted

Hoodlums on Monday attacked party  supporters, as the Ogun state poll petitions tribunal began hearing of the petition filed by the party to challenge the outcome of last march 18 governorship poll.

The attack took place, despite the cordoning off roads leading to the venue of the tribunal by security operatives

A PDP governorship aspirant, Otunba Segun Sowunmi, was hit with sticks, and had to escape  from the hoodlums,

who  started attacking party’s supporters outside the gate of the tribunal, sitting in Abeokuta.

Sowunmi told newsmen that some of his supporters who were accompanying him, received various degrees of injuries, and were receiving treatment in various hospitals.

The pdp chieftain called on the appeal court president, justice Monica Dogban Mensah, to immediately relocate the tribunal from Abeokuta to abuja for security reason.

The crisis started after suspected hoodlums of both the APC and PDP started exchanging words,

after security operatives failed to allow them and supporters from entering the tribunal premises.

The hoodlums with sticks started flogging party supporters, forcing several most of them, who were PDP members to flee.

Security operatives later chased the hoodlums out of the axis to restore order.
