Hit And Run Driver Kill TRACE Officer, Injure Five Others In Ogun
An officer of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has died after he was knocked down by a truck driver, while on a patrol duty in the early hours of Wednesday.
Five other operatives of the agency were also critically injured by the truck driver along the Abeokuta-Sagamu interchange expressway.
The truck driver now on the run, crashed into the TRACE officers and their patrol vehicle, damaging the vehicle.
The corps commander, Seni Ogunyemi, broke the news during the opening session of the capacity building training workshop for TRACE officers at the Valleyview hall at the Government House, Oke Igbein, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

He said the police had taken over the incident, while those injured had been rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele who declared open the workshop condoled TRACE, and the families of the victims of the incident.
She explained that the state government was mindful of what TRACE is going through, in the performance of their duties, including harassment from members of the public and hate speeches from those arrested for traffic offences.
The deputy governor warned dignitaries and members of the public to stop calling top government officials whenever they were arrested for flouting traffic regulations.
