Health Commissioners Caution Against Use Of Killer Cough Syrup

Health commissioners have cautioned Nigerians against the use of four cough syrup linked to the death of 66 children in Gambia.

The drugs, according to the health commissioners forum are Colourless and almost odourless, making it difficult to detect.

The forum chairman, Doctor Oyebanji Filani, named the toxic drugs as, Prome-thazine oral solution, Kofexmalin baby cough syrup, Makoff baby and Magrip cough syrup.

The forum says the world heath organization (WHO) has directed the withdrawal of the four cough syrup from circulation to prevent harm.
