Nasarawa state information, culture, and tourism commissioner, Yakubu Lawal, has been abducted by gunmen.
He was abducted on Monday night from his residence at Nasarawa Eggon local government area.

Spokesman of the state police command, Rahman Namsel told newsmen in Lafia that the gunmen invaded the residence of the Culture and Tourism commissioner, shooting sporadically and whisked him away to an unknown destination.
He said that police tactical teams including mobile police force, anti-kidnap squads, the military, and vigilance groups have been deployed to rescue the commissioner unhurt.
The rescue and search operation, according to Namsel, is headed by the area police commander in Akwanga local government area, assistant police commissioner Aliru Aliyu.
