Govs Say Growing Insecurity Raises Question On Capability to Rule

Nigeria governors’ forum says Monday’s terrorist attack on Abuja-Kaduna train is a wakeup call to finally address the growing insecurity levels in the country.

The governors in a statement by its chairman, Kayode Fayemi said the unwarranted acts of violence is becoming too regular.

The governor said the growing insecurity is raising a basic question of the collective capacity of Nigerian leaders to govern.

According to the governors, the attacks must stop, and as leaders, they owe victims of the attacks and their relatives an apology.

The governors describe the attacks on the Abuja-Kaduna train as a horror dream orchestrated by wicked merchants of death.

The forum asks federal government to immediately install all necessary safeguards to forestall future acts of banditry on rail, roads, ports and land borders.

According to the governors, there is the need to improve on security intelligence and the ability to act on gathered intelligence.

The governors assure Nigerians that there is a government in charge capable of doing what need to be done to end the spate of insecurity.
