Governor Dapo Abiodun Sworn In For Second Term, Frees 49 Convicts

Governor Dapo Abiodun has spared three convicts on death row in prisons in Ogun state from the hangman noose, as he began a second term in office on Monday.

The governor also freed 46 other inmates of custodial centres in the state.

Abiiodun announced this in his maiden address to people of the state after his inauguration for a second term in office at the MKO Abiola stadium, Abeokuta.

The three condemned convicts had their conviction commuted to prison sentences, while 46 others had served long prison terms for more than 20 years.

One of them was 84 year old,while three were over 60 year old.

The governor also said that talks are ongoing for the exploration of crude oil in Tongeji island in Ogun west and Olokola in ogun east

Abiodun assured that Ogun would soon join the league of oil producing states soon.

The governor promised not to disappoint people of the state for giving him another opportunity to serve them for more four years.

He assured that his admnistration would further improve on his performance than in his first term in office..
