Governor Dapo Abiodun Blames Amosun For Relocation Of Dangote Refinery From Ogun To Lagos

Governor Dapo Abiodun has accused his predecessor, senator Ibikunle Amosun of causing the location of the $18.5 billion Dangote refinery in Lagos, instead of Ogun State

He absolved himself of the blame for the relocation of the mega refinery project, which was initially earmarked for Ogun waterside, to Lekki in Lagos

Abiodun was reacting to former Ogun State governorship aspirant, Otunba Segun Sowunmi who blamed bad politics,

for the relocation of the project by Dangote to Lagos

Sowunmi in a statement he issued shortly after the inauguration of the refinery in Lagos on Tuesday,

called for a law to penalize economic sabotage by bad politics

In a swift reaction, governor Abiodun, through his chief press secretary, Kunle Somorin,

blamed personal dispute between Amosun and Alhaji Aliko Dangote for the relocation of the refinery project to Lagos

The governor admitted he was the chairman of the Olokola free trade zone, where the refinery was initially to be located

Abiodun however said, himself and other members of the committee did everything possible to ensure that the project was not moved out of Ogun state’

According to the governor, Amosun frustrated all their efforts to retain the refinery project in Ogun state.
