Governor Adeleke In His First Act, Freezes Osun Bank Accounts

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has directed the immediate cancellation of all appointments made since last July 17 by the Oyetola administration.

The recent of such appointments were those of 30 permanent secretaries last Thursday.

Governor Adeleke issued the directive after his inauguration on Sunday by the state chief judge, justice Adepele Ojo, at the Osogbo township stadium.

He also ordered the freezing of accounts of the state government in various bank accounts and a comprehensive review of all policies and decisions of the Oyetola administration since last July 17.

The new governor also ordered a revert to the name of Osun State from the State of Osun introduced by the Aregbesola administration.

The appellation of the state, according to Adeleke, should also be changed from the state of virtuous to the state of the living springs.

Dignitaries at the ceremony, included the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, his running mate, governor Ifenayi Okonwa of Delta state, as well as governors of Edo and Akwa Ibom states.

Others were the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi;  the Ataoja of Osogbo, the Orangun of Ila, the Timi of Ede and the Oluwo of Iwo.
