FUNAAB New VC, Kehinde Promises To Transform The Institution

The newly appointed Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Professor Olusola Babatunde Kehinde has promised to transform the institution into a twenty first century university, which would be among the top five in Nigeria.

Professor Kehinde, who was celebrated as the seventh substantive Vice Chancellor of FUNAAB on Monday, said his vision was to make FUNAAB among the top 100 universities in Africa.

The Vice Chancellor who stated this while speaking during the event at the Olufemi Balogun ceremonial building on the campus, promised to build on the achievements of his predecessor and actively promote staff and students welfare.

His FUNAAB agenda, include focused leadership and efficient administrative machinery, unique fund generation and resource management system, networking for effective linkages and partnerships, academic renaissance and quality research, actively promoting staff and students welfare, peace and security and broad-based infrastructural development.

Professor kehinde said this would be achieved through equality, collaboration, communication and community engagements.

Dignitaries at the event were the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, the Osile of Oke Ona Egbaland, Oba Adedapo Adewale Tejuoso, the Agura of Gbaguraland, Oba Saburee Bakre, the Olowu of Owu, Saka Matemilola, the Olu of Osiele, Oba Olufemi Olowoyo and other traditional rulers.

Others are the state commissioner of police, Frank Mba, the Ogun State Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Adeola odedina who represented Governor Dapo Abiodun, as well as the Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Dr. Adeoye Oladeji and the Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr. Ade Abolurin.
