France Sees Ogun as Emerging Nigeria’s Leading State

French government has rated Ogun state as having the potentials of emerging as Nigeria’s leading state.

French ambassador to Nigeria, Mrs. Emmanuele Blatmann gave this indication during a courtesy visit to Governor Dapo Abiodun, at the governor’s office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

The ambassador says that a lot of innovation are ongoing in Ogun state which makes it one of Nigeria’s leading states, adding that it is one of the safest place in Nigeria.

According to the envoy, France is ready to enter into discussion with Abiodun administration in several areas, including women empowerment, information and technology, transport, cultural programme such as French language.

France, she adds, is also ready to offer technical service for the ongoing cargo airport project, and agriculture projects to create new jobs.

At the moment, the envoy says that several French firms are operating in Ogun state, while french international development agency is intervening in rural water sector programme and rural access and agricultural marketing programme.

The governor told the envoy that the state has sixteen kilometre square of land, out of which a greater percentage are arable land for cultivating cash and food crops.
