Finitiri Declared Adamawa Governor Elect, INEC Asks Police To Arrest Electoral Commissioner
Governor Ahmadu Finitiri has finally been declared the winner of the stalemated Adamawa State governorship poll.
Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declated finitiri after the final collation of the results in Yola on Tuesday, amidst tight security.
The governor who contested on the PFDP platform, was credited with 430,861 votes to emerge as winner over his closest rival, senator Aishat Binani of the APC, who got 398,788 votes.
INEC has ordered a re-run of the march 18 governorship poll last Sunday, after it was first declared inconclusive.

On Monday, the state resident electoral commissioner, Yunusa Ari, Hijacked the collation of results process and declared the apc candidate as the winner, while the results from 10 local government areas were yet to be collated.
The resident electoral commissioner had since been suspended by INEC who asks the police to effect his arrest for prosecution.
Also, the inspector general of police, Usman Baba, had moved the state police commissioner, mohammed barde out of the state, and replaced him with his Bauchi state counterpart, Etim Egha for the final collation of the results.
