FG Directs Governors To Account For Ecological Fund

Federal Government (FG) has directed the state governors to account for the ecological fund they had been collected from the ecological fund.

Environment Minister, Mohammed Abdullahi said that federal government was being overstretched over its intervention in disasters in the states.

Abdullahi speaking at an inter-ministerial briefing on the achievements of the Buhari administration, asks the governors to account for the ecological fund they had been receiving over the years.

The minister recalled that federal government was initially handling the ecological fund until state governors agitated that their share of the fund should be disbursed to them.

Since then Abdullahi, said each state were being paid its share of the ecological fund along with the monthly statutory allocation from the federation account.
