The presidency has convened a fresh meeting with leaders of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) whose members have been on strike since last February.
The high level fresh meeting with ASUU will hold today with the chief of staff to the president, Professor Ibrahim Gambari presiding over it at the presidential villa.
Invited to the meeting are leaders of the Nigeria Inter Religious Council, Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress, and Civil Society Groups.

Meanwhile, street protests by public university students has continued to spread despite calls by the senate president, Ahmed Lawan that it should be suspended.
On Wednesday in Abeokuta, a group of students blocked the Obada Oko axis of the Abeokuta-Lagos expressway.
Today, it will be turn of the students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife and those of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko on Friday.
