Federal Government Can Afford Pay Rise For Workers – Keyamo Says
The federal government of Nigeria has said that the move by the administration of president Muhammadu Buhari to introduce a pay rise for federal civil servants under the consolidated public service salary structure cannot be described as unreasonable.
The minister of state for labour, employment and productivity, Mr. Festus Keyamo, in an interview on Saturday in Abuja, said thus:
The last-minute pay-rise of 144,766 federal civil servants is something the federal government can afford.

According to Keyamo, the criticism that the announcement of the peculiar allowance for civil servants is a trap for the incoming administration is not True.
He said the incoming administration should be able to fund the payment of this
Allowance through subsidy removal and exploring other means of generating Income.
