Father And Son Docked For Allegedly Slapping Doctor At FMC, Abeokuta
A 56 year old father, Ayodele Falomo and his 23 year old son, Ayoola Falomo have appeared before an Abeokuta magistrate court, for allegedly assaulting a female doctor at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta while performing her duty.
Both of them pleaded not guilty to the two count charges of conspiracy and assault filed against them.
The prosecuting counsel, Inspector Olaide Rawlings, told the court on Wednesday that both of them assaulted Doctor Pelumi Somorin by slapping her at the right and left cheek while performing her duty at the hospital on Tuesday.

According to the prosecutor, the defendants accused the Doctor of causing the death of a patient who was the wife of Ayodele Falomo and mother of Ayoola Falomo.
During the court sitting, the magistrate, I.O Abudu, while interviewing the defendants, was told by Ayodele that he had written an apology letter to the management of hospital, and the state chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association
The magistrate said writing the apology letter by the accused showed that the defendants were remorseful of their act.
She however said assault on doctors while performing their duties had been recurring in the system and must be addressed.
Abudu granted the defendants to bail in the sum of N200,000 each with one surety each, who must be registered bonds men with Ogun state judiciary.
She adjourned the case until February 16 2023 for report of settlement or trial.
