Emergency Numbers Released, Amidst Fear Over Likely Terrorists Attack In Abuja

The Force Headquarters has released emergency telephone numbers, as security tightened in Federal Capital Territory, amidst security alert on likely attacks by terrorists.

Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, released the telephone lines Thursday night in a statement by force spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

The telephone numbers are 080-3200-3913, 070-5733-7653, 080-2894-0883 and 080-6158-1938.

The Police Chief also directed the activation of all emergency numbers to full capacity, for a 24 hour prompt response, with combat officers and men placed on standby, in case of emergency and distress calls.

He asks residents in the territory to be vigilant.

The fears of terrorists attacks had been heightened by the Tuesday night raid of a housing estate in Abuja, during which suspected terrorists were arrested by security operatives.

The raid was said to have been extended to other parts of the territory with positive results.

The US Embassy was first to raise the alert in its travel advisory to its citizens of a plot by terrorists for likely attacks on several targets in the territory.
