Eleven More Suspected Cultists, Including 4 Siblings Arrested in Ogun

Eleven more suspected cultists have been picked up in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, by the police in their ongoing clampdown on cultist groups in the state.

The suspects, all arrested in Itoku axis of the city, include Quadri Ogunsanya, Olamilekan Hamzat, Bamidele Walihu, Jamiu Kehinde Adereka Samuel, Ajeifa Arifasope, and Ismail Waris.

Others are siblings, Azeez Makinde, Ifajinmi Makinde, Fasakin Makinde, and Faleke Makinde.

Spokesman of the state police command, Superitendent Abimbola Oyeyemi, said they were arrested in connection with the killing of one Olaosebikan Tejuoso last March 22 at Isale Abetu in the city.

Oyeyemi also said the suspects who were linked to various bloody clashes at Itoku, were allegedly planning a fresh attacks when they were picked up by the police anti-cultism unit.

During interrogation, he alleged that the suspects claimed to belong to the Eiye confraternity group, and participated in the clashes during which Tejuoso was killed.

He adds that the suspected cultists also participated in the killing of one Habeeb Meyo and another person named “school boy” at Omida same day.
