El-Rufai Accuses the Military of Failing to Act On Intelligence on Terrorists

Governor Nasir El-Rufai says he is frustrated and helpless over the inaction of the military to act on the intelligence at their disposal on terrorists ravaging Kaduna state.

The governor, addressing newsmen while receiving transportation minister, Rotimi Amaechi at the government house, Kaduna, said he was angry because the security agencies had enough intelligence to stop terrorists operating in the state.

According to him, air force had undertaken reconnaissance flight over the locations of the terrorists, while the directorate of state security service usually monitored the telephone calls of the terrorists in the state.

He added that the location of the terrorists is a public knowledge, but the military refused to move against them, or take to his call that their locations should be carpet bombed by the army and the air force.

The governor explains the initial obstacle to bombing the locations of the terrorists had been removed by labelling the former bandits as terrorists.
