Eight persons have been killed in a fatal auto crash along Ota-Idiroko road in the Yewa axis of Ogun state.

Two others were injured in the head-on collision between a car and a gas laden tanker.

The fatal auto crash occurred at 01.20 am on Monday at the Olokuta axis of the road.

The state commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ahmed Umar in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Florence Okpe said occupants of the car were for sometime trapped underneath the vehicle and had to be extracted.

The commander blamed the accident on wrongful overtaking, leading to a head-on collision of the two vehicles.
