Education Loan Fund Asks Students in State Owned Institutions to Begin Applying For Loans

Nigerian education loan fund has directed students in state owned tertiary educational institutions to start applying for the loan scheme.

The fund on its X post on Sunday, however, said only students of institutions which had successfully submitted their student’s data could apply as from Sunday.

According to the fund, only 36 state tertiary institutions had so far uploaded the data of their students into the student’s loan verification system.

The breakdown of the 36 institutions shows that in Ogun state, only Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, had uploaded its students data as at Sunday, to the system.

The fund had earlier postponed registration for the loan scheme by students of the state owned institutions till Sunday, following the failure of most of them to meet the June deadline to do so.

Already, the fund had registered more than 100,000 students from federal institutions, out of which 75,000 had been cleared for the loan scheme.
