Drones Deployed To Secure Lagos-Ibadan Expressway From Bandits
Ogun State Government says drones have been deployed to keep surveillance on kidnappers and other criminal elements terrorizing travelers along the busy Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Also, patrols of the expressway by security forces have been upscale to protect travelers from attacks.
Governor Dapo Abiodun made this known while receiving the management of the leadership newspapers on Tuesday at the Governor’s Office, Oke Mosan, in Abeokuta.
He said Oyo and Ogun State Governments have set up a joint security teams to police the expressway, after discovering that the epicenter of kidnapping on the road was within the axis of the border of the two states.

The governor said they had deployed 20 drones to monitor the activities of kidnappers and other criminal elements, even before they struck in the axis.
Abiodun also said that about 30 patrol teams, including operatives of the police, department of security service, vigilance groups and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps are now keeping vigil on the expressway.
Apart from these, the governor said they have started clearing 50 metres of bushes on each side of the expressway to deprive kidnappers hiding places before jumping into the road for attacks.
