Death Toll From Floods Hits 603, And 2,407 Injured, On Sunday, Nationwide
Death toll from the flood ravaging the country this year, has risen to 603 as at October 16.
A total of two thousand and 407 others were also injured in the rampaging flood during the period.
Humanitarian affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Minister, Sadiya Farouq, made this known at a news conference in Abuja on Sunday.
According to her, two million, 504 thousand people were affected by the flood, while one million, 302 thousand and 589 were displaced.

Statistics released by the Minister, also indicates that 82 thousand and 53 houses were totally damaged in the flood, as well as thousands hectares of farmland.
The Minister asked Anambra, Cross River, Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa States to brace up for more likely flood up till the end of November this year.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Metereological Agency (NIMET) has predicted thunderstorms over parts of tates in the south as from today till Wednesday.
NIMET in its weather update on Sunday listed States to be affected as Ogun, Edo, Enugu, Osun, Ondo, Ebonyi, Ondo, Oyo, Delta, Lagos, Rivers, Cross River, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom States.
