Dapo Abiodun Launches 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state has launched the 2024-armed forces remembrance emblem, with a promise to continue to prioritize the welfare of its serving and retired personnel.

Abiodun, during the launching of the emblem at the governor’s office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Monday, donated N10 million to the legionnaires.

He asked Nigerians to extend their support and care to the families left behind by the fallen heroes.

The governor also promised to investigate the accommodation request of the legion, noting that a befitting edifice would be made available for them.

The Governor said through their brilliant efforts, Nigeria has been able to maintain stability and ensure the safety of its citizens.

Abiodun divulged that his administration would continue to collaborate with the armed forces in addressing various security challenges in the state.

Earlier, the state chairman of the Nigeria legion, master warrant Officer Olumuyiwa Orukotan (RTD), told the governor of an increase in the number of widows and orphans in need of care and support, following the pressure on the armed forces, whose personnel are being drafted to tackle security issues nationwide.

Orukotan commended the efforts of the state government to reposition the economy, even as he called for concerted efforts to ameliorate the hardship being faced by widows and orphans of falling heroes.
